My understanding is we both get $20 if you signup for a new account.  I originally signed up for the prepaid pay by the month plan and more recently switched to the annual pay plan.  Since I lived outside the US for years, I have never had a contract plan.   I just needed a SIM that worked when I returned to the US and needed a number when I arrived back home.   Since I know I have decent coverage where I am (H2O uses the ATT network) I took the lowest data plan which also has an unlimited slow data component.   The slow data is Unlimited data at up to 256 kbps after 4G/5G Data is used which is better then most.  I find it workable, but admit I am on WIFI almost all day long so don't really have any issues.   I did data test at the end of my monthly cycle and found 256 kbs fine to order food on an app or to google search.  I even tried a Whatsapp video call which was not totally awful. But that might be because, I have gotten used to some awful internet oustide the US.   I just like always having access to some data all the time and having a fixed price for my plan, no overage charge and no running out of data.....just some extra waiting.
